FEATURES & BENEFITS

Learning is Exploratory, Flexible and Adaptable

  Reference section
There are over 75 screens of information containing graphics and text on process control system architecture, console displays, alarm management, failure modes, and start-up and shut-down procedures.

This training system is primarily based on a self-paced, exploratory approach to learning that allows for the specific needs of different learners. If a user learns best by challenging his or her own knowledge they can attempt to solve complex faults. If the user prefers learning based on expert guidance they can practice with jobs and simulations, or if the user prefers to build up factual knowledge they can use the reference section.

The benefit of this approach to instruction is that it is adaptable to the individual needs of the trainees, leading to a more efficient learning system. For trainees with very little knowledge of process control, the training system can be used to introduce the domain. If the trainee has some knowledge of process control, the system can work to consolidate or enhance their knowledge. For the most experienced trainees the system provides an opportunity to practice their skills in increasingly complex and challenging ways.
