FEATURES & BENEFITS

Job Oriented Simulation Training

  Simulation Screen
The user chooses a certain job to complete. There is a description of the job, the tasks to be done in the simulation, and hyper-links to the relevant portions of the reference section.

The primary focus of the training system is on completing set jobs in a simulated control room. Instruction is provided via problem solving exercises using interactive simulation. This approach emulates the usual training situation in the industry where inexperienced operators are trained by attempting to perform actual control tasks under the supervision of an experienced mentor.

Instant Engagement

In the Process Control Operator CBT training system, trainees' knowledge and abilities are engaged and developed right from the start of a training session when they choose a job to do or choose an error condition to correct. The trainee is immediately interacting with a simulated process control system and learning the correct responses to changing operator conditions in a dynamic and time-driven environment.

Rapid Skill Development

The benefit of this 'learning by doing' approach in a realistic training environment is that it provides an efficient way to impart the skills necessary to become an expert process control operator. Providing instruction in a problem solving context is a motivating, challenging and authentic form of learning. Skills are also built up as the trainee's knowledge and abilities are applied to new and more difficult jobs. The use of a problem solving approach also means that trainees are learning in the types of situations that actually occur in process control environment, thus helping the training to be highly transferable.

Add More Modules

Additional Jobs, Faults & Tasks for advanced process control issues and simulations industry specific components will soon be available for purchase for registered users. These additions build on knowledge gained from initial use of the training product. They enhance the learning experience and demonstrate the interrelationships between processes as the tasks become more complex. Opportunities are therefore provided for multi-skilling and transfer of knowledge and skills between industries.
